Chrysalis Clothing Guidelines

We at Chrysalis would like to encourage all youth and team to dress modestly in order to create an environment that is God-honoring.

We use the following scripture to determine expectations around appropriate clothing guidelines:

“So let’s stop condemning each other. Decide instead to live in such a way that you will not cause another believer to stumble and fall.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭14‬:‭13‬ ‭NLT‬‬‬‬‬‬‬

“And I want women to be modest in their appearance. They should wear decent and appropriate clothing and not draw attention to themselves by the way they fix their hair or by wearing gold or pearls or expensive clothes. For women who claim to be devoted to God should make themselves attractive by the good things they do.”
‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭2‬:‭9‬-‭10‬ ‭NLT‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬

WHAT TO WEAR

 

Comfortable, Modest Clothing

  • Pants

  • T shirt

  • Tank tops w/ 1” straps

  • Shorts at least 2” below bottom

  • Leggings w/ bottom coverage (long shirt or wrap around waist)

  • Overalls and rompers with appropriate  undershirt

  • Skirt length - mid-thigh or longer

  • Sleepwear should follow the above guidelines (Spandex/Sport Shorts may be used for pjs)

WHAT NOT TO WEAR

 

Revealing Clothing: Clothing that exposes bare midriffs, underwear, or cleavage is not permitted.

Clothing with references to drugs, alcohol, sex, profanity or anything demonic

  • Spaghetti straps

  • Undergarments / bras showing

  • Spandex / Sports Shorts / tight boy shorts

  • Anything see-through

  • Leggings without bottom coverage

  • Short shorts (must have 2” below bottom)

  • Crop tops

  • Tube top/ strapless shirts
